Bankruptcy & Business Liquidation
When a business winds down or goes through bankruptcy, inventory is often one of the assets that has to be converted to cash. We purchase that inventory outright, giving owners, trustees and their advisors a direct buyer for merchandise of many types and sizes.
Seller submissions are reviewed by Overstock Heroes, the liquidation and excess-inventory company that sources inventory for Everything Liquidated.
Important: We purchase and liquidate inventory only. We do not provide legal, financial or bankruptcy advice, and any sale must be authorized by whoever has the right to sell, which may include a court or trustee.
Who this is for
- Business owners winding down operations
- Bankruptcy trustees, receivers and assignees for the benefit of creditors
- Attorneys and financial advisors representing a business or its creditors
- Lenders and secured parties recovering collateral that includes inventory
What inventory we buy
- Finished goods in warehouses, stores or distribution centers
- Retail and wholesale stock of a business that has stopped trading
- Inventory held at a 3PL or public warehouse on behalf of the business
- Mixed-condition goods, including returns and partial cases
Situations we can help with
- Voluntary wind-downs: an owner decides to close and needs to sell remaining stock.
- Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases: a trustee or debtor needs a buyer for inventory, subject to the required approvals.
- Receiverships and assignments: a court-appointed or contractual fiduciary is liquidating assets.
- Lender recoveries: inventory pledged as collateral needs to be sold.
What we need to review
An inventory list or recent count, the location of the goods, condition notes, photos, and a contact who can confirm who is authorized to sell. Where approval from a court or other party is required, tell us the expected timeline. Send us what you have and we’ll evaluate the opportunity.
FAQs
Can you give us advice on the bankruptcy process?
No. We don’t provide legal, financial or bankruptcy advice. Please work with your attorney or trustee on process questions.
Do you buy all the assets of a business?
Our focus is inventory and merchandise. If there is also equipment or other assets, mention it in your submission and we’ll tell you whether we can help.
Can you work with a trustee or attorney directly?
Yes. We can communicate with whoever is authorized to sell and provide the information they need to evaluate an offer.
Can you remove the inventory from our facility?
Yes. In most purchases, our team handles the freight or pickup logistics, including scheduling, carriers and transportation coordination, and the logistics cost is typically covered as part of our offer. You don’t have to arrange it yourself.
